3M Safety Film Overview
3M Safety and Security film is a thick, tear-resistant film that bonds to glass and holds it together on impact. Instead of shattering into dangerous shards, treated glass stays in place — slowing intruders, containing fragments during earthquakes, and protecting people from flying glass.

The Ultra Safety Series uses a patented multi-layer tear-resistant construction:
- Ultra S400 / Ultra 400 — strong everyday safety and security
- Ultra S600 / Ultra 600 — higher impact and forced-entry resistance
- Ultra S800 / Ultra 800 — maximum thickness and protection

Clear or Tinted
3M safety film is available clear for maximum visibility or in tinted versions that add solar control alongside protection. Both options are installed at the upper end of $10–$18 per square foot for security-grade film.
